Summary of Cell Proliferation Method, Cell Proliferation Agent, and Cell Proliferation Medium
(Patent No. 6684956)
In recent years, in the field of regenerative medicine, there has been a desire to use cells obtained through proliferation culture for therapeutic purposes in the treatment of diseases. When using cells obtained through proliferation culture for therapeutic purposes, it is preferable from ethical and safety perspectives that these cells do not contain serum. Therefore, as a cell proliferation agent for proliferating somatic cells, there has been an increasing demand for serum alternatives that allow for serum-free culture of somatic cells.
The challenge that the present invention aims to address is to provide a novel cell proliferation method and cell proliferation agent that allow for serum-free culture of somatic cells.
The present inventors have discovered that by seeding somatic cells in a cell proliferation medium containing dental pulp-derived stem cell culture supernatant, it is possible to solve the above-mentioned challenge through serum-free culture.
As a result, it is possible to provide a novel cell proliferation method and cell proliferation agent that allow for serum-free culture of somatic cells.
